Kevin Hagen
I've been very fortunate to hold leadership roles in great companies where I could be a catalyst for a more sustainable business approach. This has meant helping leaders and contributors across the organization gain the new skills and competencies business will need to succeed. I've learned a lot about what works, what doesn't work and what matters. I've also had the chance to collaborate with an amazing network of people within these companies, in other corporations, NGOs, government and academia to help us all learn faster, enjoy the camaraderie of passionate people and make real progress on the biggest challenges in business today.
Iron Mountain 2014 -
I currently lead ESG Strategy at Iron Mountain, the leading document and data management and storage company. From environmental impacts to community engagement and philanthropy, Iron Mountain is on the path to adopting sustainable business thinking and making the enterprise part of the solution.
REI - Recreational Equipement Inc 2005 - 2013
I lead sustainable business strategy and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at the co-op. This included the process for environmental and social metrics, public reporting, stakeholder engagement, goal setting and prioritization. We also implemented leading efforts on factory fair labor, Product Stewardship and supply chain transparency as well as award winning community engagement and philanthropy efforts.
Shuksan Energy Consulting 2002 - 2005
Launching and operating a successful consulting practice was an education all to itself. As an advisor to senior executives, I had the opportunity to work with leading clients to integrate high impact, high return renewable energy programs as part of their sustainable business strategy.
Xantrex Technology 2000 - 2002
With the formation of Xantrex in 2000 I lead the sales, marketing and support groups for the Distributed Generation Division. Xantrex inverters and power accessories formed the "guts" of off-grid and grid-connected renewable energy systems such as solar, wind, fuel cell and hybrid systems. Worldwide responsibilities gave me an opportunity to play a role in building a leading team and eventually to a successful IPO.
Trace Engineering 1995 - 2002
I joined Trace Engineering to lead product and market development efforts. The company experienced explosive growth as the market for it's pioneering inverter technology enabled the use of solar PV, Wind, micro-hydro and hybrid technologies to comfortably power off-grid homes and commercial sites.
EG&G Rotron 1983 - 1995
I grew up in Engineering and program management in the aerospace industry. Rotron is still the leading manufacturer of fans and blowers used in avionics cooling and environmental control systems in military and commercial aircraft. As an Applications Engineer I learned that a great design was just the beginning. To deliver the product meant learning how to navigate a complex organization, moving from testing and certification to manufacturing, production and finally customer acceptance. I ended up on the customer facing side of the business, running the sales and marketing organization for Europe, based in France and eventually heading up worldwide Sales and Marketing.
